Problem
Michael Vargason is a personal trainer in San Diego.
Similarly to many local businesses, Michael needed to have a strong online presence to help him build authority online and attract more customers.
What's also important is that we wanted to underscore Michael's young energetic personality and his mission which is to help others.
This way he would be able to differentiate himself from his competition.
Goals
After doing an initial exploration of the target market, we've found out that a lot of people in the local area were searching for a personal trainer.
So we've decided to do the following:
- Build a modern responsive website to differentiate Michael from other personal trainers
- Create and implement a local SEO strategy to rank on the 1st page of Google for keywords 'personal trainer in San Diego'
- Help Michael set up his business on Google My Business and other web directories where people are looking for his business
Our Work
Our job was to build a responsive website with great user experience on mobile.
We had to make sure that the website is optimized for conversions.
We accomplished it with the following:
- A clear call to action visible all the time in the navbar and above the fold on the first screen
- Brand story in a form of video that tells Michael's personal history and his mission that people can relate to
- Testimonials from his clients that show the results delivered
- FAQs to answer the most common objections people might have that prevent them from contacting Michael
In order to optimize for local SEO, we did the following:
- Optimized website in terms of speed
- Included proper title, meta description on the page as well as the alt tags for the images that included our targeted keywords
- Added local address and other contact details + a Google Map at the bottom of the homepage and in the footer
- Described every service page using proper keywords and SEO-optimized content
- Helped Michael add his website to Google My Business and other local directories where his business wasn't present yet
- Added schema markup to the website so that the website is easier to "understand" for Google which will result in Rich Snippets search results
It's important to mention that we've started working on SEO quite recently and most of the results will come in the next 4-6 months.
